We are empowering you to give your basic blacks a break. That doesn't mean we are saying that you should jump into crazy prints or traffic stopping styles but how about some white, blush or taupe? These neutrals perform the same function as a basic black except they have the power to brighten your entire look. If paired correctly, you'll look even more sophisticated than an all black ensemble. Sharing with you some of our favorite looks. Photos by: @barabarajayy and modeling by our muse @aprildenise.
LOOK 1: We paired the Varley Terri Crop in white snake and the Varley Oak Stir-Up in white snake with a sheer and flowy dress, blush satin slides and a taupe structured bag. The tennis racket is truly optional but this is a perfect country club look or a brunch where oodles of rose will be flowing.
Don't be terrified of light colored leggings, in this look we paired a white legging with our favorite blush sweatshirt, the Varley Manning Blush Sweat. The above Oak Stir-Up would be a good subtle print option too. We literally can not stock this sweater quick enough. The blush and the white contrast look beautifully. A nude sandal and a blushing bag are two very nice final touches.
If you're freaking out over a lighter colored legging, you can add in a grey legging like the Free People Infinity Legging in order to skip your usual black. What we are saying is... live a little and give black a break.
